Margaret was baptised 8 Apr 1855 as recorded in the records of the Catholic Church in Eagletown [Peshawbestown]. Her birth was given as 21 Dec 1854. Parents names written as Carlos Behamosse and Maria Giwikwaumakwe.


Her father had at least one child before her birth. It is unknown what happened to this child.

Margaret was said to have been married to Rodney Negake in 1873 or 1877 in Suttons Bay or Muskegon, Michigan. Marriage record not found.


On 11 Apr 1878 Margaret Negate of Elbridge, heir of Pa-bah-mee sold to Henry Smith of Leelanau County her share of the NW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 and lot #1 of section 35, Township 30 North, Range 11 West, consisting of 67.5 acres for $15.

AND

On 15 Apr 1878, Catharine Pa-bah-me of Mason county, Agnes Pa-bah-me of Clare county and Christine Bahbmee of Grand Traverse county, heirs of Pa-bah-mee sold to Henry Smith of Leelanau County her share of the NW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 and lot #1 of section 35, Township 30 North, Range 11 West, consisting of 67.5 acres for $125.

[Note that while his daughters were John's heirs, the land didn't enter probate until 4 Apr 1889, when Henry Smith had to prove he bought it legally. Link to the probate records  It is also unknown why Margaret received less money than her sisters.]

As second daughter named Mary was said to be born 4 Nov 1884 in Elbridge, Oceana, Michigan.

Sister Christine, 28,  married Daniel Chippewa, 31, son of Joseph Otchipwe and Maria Mosokwe was married on 13 Sep 1884  in Eagletown Catholic Church. 



Son Henry was born 13 Feb 1885


Daughter Susett died 6 Aug 1887 at age 1 month 19 days. She was buried at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Elbridge, Oceana, Michigan

The school register for the following year shows Frank withdrawn on 30 Apr 1918 with the remark "deserted".


Son William registered for the draft on 30 Jun 1917. He gave his birth at 3 Jul 1894 in Elbridge, occupation as laborer for J. K. Flood of Elbridge. William was described as medium height and build, with brown eyes and balck hair.



Son William, a private in Co. H, 339th Infantry, sailed on the Northumberland on 22 Jul 1918. His contact was Rodney Negake, father of R.F. B. #3, Walkerville, MI.


Daughter Anna died 24 Dec 1918 in Elbridge. Her age was given as 27, divorced from Joe Riffls, daughter of Rodney Negake and not known. Cause of death was tuberculosis of lungs, burial at the Sayles Cememety. Informant was Frank Negake.


Son William died 3 May 1919, and was buried in Onega, Russia
