Nauck che gaw me

Nauck a che gaw me was said to be born about 1788 in the Saginaw valley area, the son of a chief.

He was one of the signers of the Treaty of 1819

He also went to Washington D.C. in 1830 along with chiefs Ogemawkeketo, Shawebenose, Wasso, Tonadoganaw, and Mozhegashing. 

Daughter Ida Nancy was said to be born around 1830

"Nauck che gaw me was a member of the band of Chippewas who were residing on the Big Rock Reservation on the Shiawassee River under Chief Pa baw mosh in the early 1830s and under Chief Was se on a quot in 1839. By 1842 Nauch che gaw me was listed as the chief of this band." [Larry Wyckoff - Chippewas of Saginaw...]

Son James was said to be born about 1842 in Sebewaing, Michigan

Daughter Ogaw-bay-a-say was said to be born about 1845

"Nauck che gaw me purchased on May 1, 1854, the E1/2 of the NE1/4 of section tow in Buena Vista Township (T12N R5E) on the Cheboyganing River in Saginaw County (160 acres). The following year, on June 18, 1855, he purchased additional lands in this same section: the SW1/4 of the NE1/4; the N1/2 of the SE1/4; and the NE1/4 of the SW1/4 for a total of 240.76 acres. Chief Nauck che gaw me selected W1/2 of the NE1/4 of section 28, Township 17 North, Range 4 East, consisting of 80 acres. 

Chief Nauck-che-gaw-me was one of the signers of the Treaty of the Chippewa of Saginaw, Swan Creek and Black River 1864.
