The Sequoyah National Research Center, part of the Collections and Archives division at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, has created the Modern Warriors of World War I database to identify all 12,000 American Indians and Alaskan Native servicemen. The goal is to create as complete a record as possible for each man that served so that their legacy of bravery and sacrifice will be remembered.
