In August 1906 Sarah Newton, age 10, of Northport, daughter of Ben, arrived at Mt. Pleasant Indian School for a period of 3 years.
Son Albert is born 6 Aug 1907 (as stated on the durant field notes).
The 1910 census shows Ben, 39 and Martha, 34, living in Homestead township, Benzie county with children Sarah, 14 and Albert, 2. Martha says she was given birth to four children, two living.

1920 Federal census finds Ben, 49 and Albert, 13, in Oliver township, Kalkaska county. Ben is a section foreman [lumber camp].
The 1930 federal census of Thompson township, Schoolcraft county has Benjamin, 72 and wife Louise L. 42. A marriage record for this couple has not been found yet.
Ben died 22 Feb 1937 in Manistique, Schoolcraft county.
Since the informant on Ben's death is son Albert we know Albert was living at that time. A 1940 census record for Albert has not yet been found and it is not known if he had children.
In 1900 she was living in Elbridge, Oceana county. George Skimhorn, 38, was a day laborer, native name Pe Tos key, Martha was 28, had one child born, one living, native name Mis suh go qua, John is age 5.
Martha and George had son Asebun / Coon / Connie born 19 Aug 1900 (from his death record).
Martha and Charles Thomas had daughters Mary 11 May 1907 and Elizabeth Jun 1908 (from durant field notes). Baby Mary died 17 Jan 1909 in Freesoil, Mason county.
By the 1910 federal census the family is in LeRoy, Osceola county. Charles is 43, married once for 4 years, working at a sawmill. Martha is 37, also married once for 4 years, 4 children born, 2 living. John is 12 and Elizabeth is 2 3/12. Also in the household are Thomas Thomas, 24, brother, works at sawmill; Jake Peters, 46, boarder, works at sawmill, and Mrs. Mary Paul, 75, widowed, step-grandmother, 0 children born, 0 living, occupation listed as weaver of baskets.
Martha and Charles have a daughter Louise, born 1 Jun 1912 in Freesoil, Mason. (Date from Social Security death index).
Martha died 16 Sep 1916 in Freesoil, Mason county.

Both Charles and Angeline listed Phelps, Vilas county, Wisconsin as their residence and each had been married once before.

Louise died 16 Nov 1985 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee county, Wisconsin and is also buried in Three Lakes Cemetery, Three Lakes, Oneida county, Wisconsin.
Alex and Louise were parents of seven children: Maseline, Charles, Carl, Francis, Cornelius, Jane and Cecelia, several still living. These children have children and grandchildren as well.

The 1920 Federal Census, Freesoil, Mason county, has John, 41, Alice, 75, mother, Harry Nicherson, 9, grandson and John Thomas, 20, grandson. They would be Alice's grandsons, not John's.
Alice died 19 Oct 1925.
