Lucy Carow Boda c1882-1917

Lucy Karrow/Carow was born 1882-1885, child of John Karrow and Mary Aslin.

The 1900 Federal Census lists her family as living on Dasser Street in the City of Cheboygan, Cheboygan county, Michigan. All born Michigan, listed as white.

Son Herbert Henry, was said to be born 22 Feb 1900 in Cheboygan. This is before his parents marriage and he is not with Lucy or Joseph in the 1900 census.

In 1903 Lucy married Joseph Peter Boda in Cheboygan county. Joseph was born 12 Jan 1882 in Saginaw county, Michigan, the son of Peter Boda and Margaret Anne Hyland.



Daughter Mable Josephine was born 27 Nov 1903 in Cheboygan. Her mother was given as Margaret Corrow.



Daughter Eva was born 17 May 1905 in Cheboygan. Sadly Eva died 29 Sep 1905, and is buried in Calvary Cemetery in Cheboygan.


Daughter Ida Pearl was born 6 Mar 1907 in Cheboygan.

John Karrow, now spelled Carow, 60, resides in Cheboygan.

Wife Mary, 57, was enumerated with John on the 1870 roll.

Children are Reuben, Mary, Frank, George, Paul, Julia, Rosie and Lucy.

Lucy is listed as 23, resides in Cheboygan, husband white. Her children are Herbert, 9; Mabel, 5, and Ida 1 1/2, born 21 Mar 1907.



Daughter Eveline was born 13 Dec 1908 in Cheboygan. Sadly she died 16 Aug 1909 in Cheboygan and is buried at Calvary Cemetery in Cheboygan.


The 1910 Federal Census of the city of Cheboygan, Cheboygan county, Michigan lists the family as living at 206 1st Street.

Son Herman was born 27 Jun 1910 and died less than 3 months later on 7 Sep 1910 in Cheboygan. He is buried at Calvary cemetery in Cheboygan.


Daughter Ida Pearl died 22 Feb 1911 in Burt township, Cheboygan county and is buried in the Burt township cemetery.



Daughter Laura was born 10 Nov 1911 in Cheboygan.

Daughter Mary Beatrice was born in Sep 1913 in Cheboygan.

Daughter Isabella was born (prematurely) on 9 Jun 1917.



Isabella died on 9 Jun 1917. She is buried in Calvary Cemetery in Cheboygan.


County death records states Isabella lived 3 hours.



Lucy died just ten days later, on 19 Jun 1917 in Cheboygan [from state record, county record has ink spot on date.]


Joseph registered for the draft 12 Sep 1918. He gave his birth as 12 Jan 1880. He is described as medium height and build, blue eyes and brown hair.


The 1920 Federal Census of Cheboygan, Cheboygan county has the family at 209 B Street.

Son Herbert, age 20,  married Louise Perry, age 17, on 25 Oct 1920 in Cheboygan.


Daughter Mabel was married on 16 Nov 1922 in Petoskey, Emmet county to Frank Edwin Strickland.



Daughter Laura was married 4 Jan 1928 in Cheboygan to Thomas Nestle.

Joseph married Annie McDonald Nestle on 27 Sep 1928 in Cheboygan. Both stated is was their second marriage.


The 1930 Federal Census lists the family at 110 Maloney Street, Cheboygan, Cheboygan county.

Daughter Laura married Caspar Danz on 29 Apr 1938 in Cheboygan.


Joseph registered for the draft 27 Apr 1942. He gave his birth as 12 Apr 1882, and is described as 5'8", 135 lbs., blue eyes, gray hair, ruddy complexion.

Daughter Laura died 15 Mar 1968 and is buried at St. Matthew's Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri
