On 27 May 1882, Chester J. Stebbins and Elizabeth Stebbins, his wife, sold to Thomas Antoine, Peter Showandase, Joseph Lightsky, Joseph Redbird and Peter Yaguagezhick, trustees of the Northport Indian Mission, M.E. and their successors in office, for the sum of $15 - land in the SE1/4 of the NW1/4 of Section Township 31 North, Range 11 West.

James Wau-sha-gee-shic (inmate at the Soldiers’ Home in Grand Rapids, a member of Company K, 1st Michigan Sharpshooters), and Mrs. Thomas Gilbert (of Grand Rapids, whose father was a missionary at Mackinac) in the right of the picture.
Identified – front row, fourth and fifth from the left are Josie and Catherine Madagame; third row, second from left is Wah-sa-qum, fourth from left is A-bung-ge-she-mok. Fourth row far right are Stephen Redbird (bow tie), Mrs. Thomas Gilbert (between the two men) and Rev. James Wau-sha-gee-shic (end of row). Peter Shawandase is the older man in the fifth row seen between two men in the fourth row.
